The Smile Connections dental family has been delighted to “carry on the flame” and serve the family and friends of Dr. Raymond Lansdowne who passed away at the age of 73 on February 26th, 2016.
After decades of faithful service to the families of the Wichita community, Dr. Raymond P. Lansdowne leaves behind a bright legacy seen each time one of his patients smiles.
Dr. Raymond Lansdowne’s Legacy
Dr. Raymond Lansdowne had been in practice since 1968 and his primary focus was always about educating his patients on their oral health and providing the best dental services and care possible for them.
Dr. Lansdowne’s memorial was to donate to SmileTrain.org, helping children born with cleft to recover their ability to eat, breathe properly, and smile.
Prior to his passing, he had been talking to Dr. Volker and Dr. Meng about joining his practice. He believed they both had the same mission in dentistry and was looking forward to a possible future serving the smiles and families of Wichita together.

His Passion for Family & Dentistry
Raymond was married for over 50 years to his dear wife, Sharon. They had 2 children: one son, Paul, who is an obstetrician and gynecologist in Texas; and one daughter, Laura, who lives here in Wichita and would routinely visit her dad for a good chat and her routine checkups.
Even at the age of 73, it was obvious that Dr. Lansdowne was not ready to retire, and why would he?! He loved dentistry, he loved the friendships he had made within the community, and he was very good at what he did.
Carrying on The Flame
Today, we remember Dr. Lansdowne for his years of service and his friendship. At Smile Connections Family Dental, we welcome the patients, friends, and family of Dr. Raymond Lansdowne to continue to care for their oral health needs with exceptional standards of care.
The patients of James A. Volker DDS, Sara E. Meng DDS, and Raymond P. Lansdowne DDS can now schedule and resume their dental checkups, cleanings, and dental procedures in one location at 250 N. Tyler Rd, Wichita, KS.
